Best NYC Wine Bars

New York City wine bars explode and popularity and now outnumber bars

Although there are now hundreds of wine bars across NYC, fifty of those are in fact great wine bars that are well worth the visit. Prices range from the very cheap to the super expensive, with some wine bars offering the basic food staples and others going all out with a full-size à-la-carte menu. Wine floats are getting pretty common now, so the choice of the wines included on the float can make or break an experience as it the quality and availability of the wine cellar.

Stonehome Wine Bar

In Brooklyn there is the Stonehome Wine Bar where they have about 50 wines by The Glass and over 300 by the bottle. You can also order flights of wine if you aren’t sure what kind of wine that you like. A flight cost around $20 the location is also a bit of a restaurant for gastros, as they have an eclectic menu that is reasonably priced. You can get unique pastas salads and cheese plates that other wine bars try to emulate. The Stonehome is definitely not a late-night place to hang out, but is perfect for and after work or lunch rendezvous.

Epistrophy Wine Bar

Epistrophy is a great place to go in Manhattan it’s in the very casual laid-back neighborhood off right on the edge of Soho. It is run by a hot-looking European couple so it’s a mix of people mostly from the neighborhood that love to frequent this upscale but warm New York City wine bar. It has that European vibe although no Speedos was seen on my last visit. it has a cozy really laid-back atmosphere New York City wine bar that is in the perfect location especially during the day for the sun the inks through the large glass windows. With the chill laid-back attitude and the no rush policy this Soho wine bar serves it’s so customers with Glee. The food at epistrophy is definitely more of a casual menu with charcuterie plates, salads on that kind of lighter fare but definitely more casual in nature. The feel of this wine bar is definitely more living room than formal dining. at night candles go on the table and the lights go dim making it perfect for a romantic rendezvous.

Jadis Wine Bar

Another great wine bar in Manhattan is Jadis, which feels like an undiscovered gem in a quiet backwater on the lower East side on rivington. It is owned by two couples who open the wine bottle for people who wanted to go and get an expensive wine by the glass. this place is definitely for the wine connoisseur ice to cost is pretty high but it allows you to try wines that you wouldn’t know me tried because you can just drink it by the glass. Come with friends and bring your platinum credit cards. Jadis has an abbreviated food menu that includes great charcuterie plates. The cheese plates and salads are a little bit more vanilla as are the panini’s and mini hamburgers. For those with cold hard cash, this wine bar has a large back area that can be reserved for private rental which has comfortable sofas and eclectic art. It’s amazing this NYC wine bar actually still has a smoker’s porch where those so inclined can still smoke up.

Wherever you end in up in NYC, there is sure to be a great wine bar just around the corner, just watch for crazy pricing and poor food reviews as wine bars in NYC have a bad habit of changing hands and a bar that might have been wonderful in the past may have just changed its spots.
